Some have asked me why it is so important to me to travel the world and make my faith known to others. Why not just have a private faith so you don’t offend people and keep it to yourself. I have been accused by a few people as being intolerant and ruining religions. It’s no fun to be labeled, but I guess that comes with my sense of calling. However, I don’t do what I do just so people will join my religion. I don’t do it because I want to pridefully out debate someone . I don’t do it to be an elitist. I don’t do it to be intolerant. I don’t do it because I think I am better than others. I don’t do it to point out the bad qualities in people. And God knows, that I don’t do it because I thrive on controversy.
The simple answer is that I do it because of LOVE.
I believe that talking about Jesus in an unarrogant and respectful two-way conversation with someone outside the faith is one of the greatest acts of love a genuine Christian can offer to others. It simply shows them that you care about them. Even if we simply “agree to disagree” without making enemies of each other.
Why is it an act of love? Because I personally believe the Bible is true, therefore I am convinced that Jesus is the only way (John 14:6, Acts 4:12) to eternal life (John 3:16). Trust me, I know that can sound offensive to those outside the faith, but what kind of man would I be if I believed that was true and spent my whole life keeping it to myself. That would feel inhumane to me and I would probably have to consider myself an agnostic or a half-hearted believer.
Here is a video of a well known atheist sharing why he actually thinks that Christians should share their faith in a honorable way if they are truly convinced that their faith is true.
