THE SEVEN WATER PROTECTORs

We are so thankful to World Relief for mentoring us on how to launch a Turkana team and teach them how to manage their own borehole, well, and water system.

At first, the tribe thought we were leaving them behind, but we assured them, “We are not leaving you — we are believing in you.”

The tribe appointed a committee to oversee and protect the water source. They selected a treasurer, secretary, mechanic, and president. Senior elders, a young translator, and women — who know the suffering firsthand — were also included in the leadership team.

It was amazing to watch this team develop confidence as they discovered how God could use them to secure funding and successfully manage the solar-powered well themselves. This village has transformed from WATER WALKERS to WATER PROTECTORS.
