God’s Miracle (HONDURAS)

Our ministry partner, Miracle, currently lives in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, where she is studying Social Work and Special Education. She grew up in a small community in Honduras and frequently returns to her hometown to care for her great-grandmother and occasionally teach. As a child, she was involved in a tragic accident in which she was struck by a bus. Her leg became trapped beneath the tire, and because the cobblestone road was wet, the bus spun out on her leg and could move forward without the help of a crowd pushing it. By the grace of God, she was able to keep her leg, but the injury brought many challenges throughout her life. She grew up resenting the scar on her leg, which caused her to walk with a limp. Additionally, she was raised in a dysfunctional and broken family. Her father left her mother when she was young, and she did not meet him until 2015, after reaching out to him through social media.

From 2003 to 2005, Miracle studied English in the United States, which enabled her to become a translator for a church in Honduras. While translating for missionaries, she shared hope with hurting people in villages and assisted with agricultural projects. She also briefly worked in a hotel in her hometown but knew that God was calling her to something more. It was during those years that she encountered the ministry of Unusual Soldiers and served as their translator. Our ministry instantly recognized something special in her. The night she shared the story of the accident that scarred her leg, she declared that she was a “Miracle of God” for still being alive. Now she goes by that nickname because she believes God chose her for a purpose and that her testimony can be used to help others wounded by traumatic events. A few years later she even heard saying that she loved her scar, because God had now given her a powerful testimony.

Between 2013 and 2018, she worked with a nonprofit organization supporting children and families. Through this ministry, she witnessed the deep trauma and brokenness affecting many families and children, which inspired her to make a more significant impact.

Drawing from her personal experiences and her work with broken families, Miracle developed a vision to establish a ministry and wellness center dedicated to helping children and families heal from trauma in her hometown. To prepare for this calling, she decided to pursue further education.

Unusual Soldiers is now a proud financial supporter of her educational journey, bringing her closer to fulfilling her God-given dream of serving hurting families in Jesus' name. Miracle is two years away from completing her studies and plans to immediately begin pursuing the ministry God has placed on her heart. She requests prayers as she continues her studies and adjusts to life in the capital, as she prefers the smaller-town atmosphere. After she finishes school, she plans to start the first wellness center in her community.

For those of you who support this ministry - Thank you! For helping us, help people like Miracle.
